We've been attentively following the progress of progressive London slow-core outfit deathcrash for a while now. Sharing news of their debut album Return (due out via the consistently excellent Untitled (recs) on the 28th of January) 'Unwind' is it's enrapturing introduction. As ever, Tiernan Banks' hushed vocal delivery is arresting in its quiet beauty, as steady drums support repetitive riffs and post-rocky guitar flourishes. Put concisely by the band, “Unwind was the right song to announce the album, as it bridges some of the heaviest and quietest moments on ‘Return’. It’s an uncompromising rock song.
